On a beautiful Friday evening we were
pleased to arrive
at the Mar Vista community
after a two hour drive

so much stress and strife
we were inaugurated by Renata
into a different way of life

The quaint cottages our home
took us back to a quieter place
where we could feel calm and cozy
in a serene private space

She spent time knitting
I painted landscapes, too
We took in Mendocino one day
and ventured to the beach's view

The cottages, the hens, and all the surroundings
a thousand miles from civilization
was exactly what we both needed
a long deserved dose of relaxation
